About Us

The Premier Supplier of Serialized, Barcoded Unit Dose Products

Reliable Packaging from a Trusted Partner

In business for over 30 years, American Health Packaging is the premier supplier of serialized, barcoded unit dose products. A subsidiary of AmerisourceBergen, we are the industry leader in providing prepackaged, unit dose oral solids to the health care marketplace. Our manufacturing facility is registered with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and fully adheres to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). Industry veterans with more than 100 years of collective experience lead our quality and manufacturing departments. Additionally, AHP is licensed by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to package Schedule II-IV controlled substances.

AHP’s core area of focus is unit dose oral medications. Barcoded to the dose level, products support bedside point-of-care initiatives in health systems. With nearly 550 SKUs across all major therapeutic classes, we are the leading provider in the marketplace with a more broad and specialized portfolio than our competitors. Our products are stability tested to support extended shelf life. In addition, color coded labels and “tall man” lettering aid in selecting the correct product for dispensing. Finally, our products are awarded to top GPOs to ensure purchasing compliance for the Pharmacy Buyers and other procurement specialists.

Our Unit Dose Plus™ line, containing low-volume, niche items, provides further opportunity for pharmacies to take advantage of AHP pre-packaged UD products. Our line is growing fast too! To best meet our customer’s needs, we consistently launch more items into the marketplace than any of our competitors – approximately 35 to 40 per year. Our newest portfolio addition, Liquid Unit Dose®, was introduced in 2017. As our newest proprietary offering, LUD brings with it many of the same safety and packaging benefits as our oral solids products. This line will grow to host products across a variety of therapeutic classes.
